WHAT IS SPC?
SPC (Solid Polymer Core) is a stone based material. The benefits of a stone based material are leading durability and stability. Are other products called SPC? SPC related products might have SPC in the name. These products may have their own benefits and features but they are different than SPC. Why SPC? Technology and innovation benefit everyone. The SPC production innovation means that people can get a waterproof product that is better than older waterproof flooring technologies and the SPC production innovation means that people can get a waterproof product that is less expensive and more environmentally friendly to produce than older waterproof flooring technologies. What is the argument against SPC? SPC is less pliable which requires more installation care. Why do people argue for older technologies? WPC and other pseudo SPC can still be successful in homes, so manufacturers and other stakeholders will promote it so that they can utilize their tooling and production investments. Are all SPC materials similar? Every manufacturer is different and being unique is more than producing the right colors. There is a lot behind the surface and being a step above isn’t enough. The priority of a floor provider should be redefining the standard rather than just reaching it at expense of others. Every step matter™
